Welcome to online4english!

Hi there! I am Sean and I would like to welcome you to online4english.com. This website contains a collection of useful and interesting resources for English learners everywhere. There are links to websites, videos, games, movies and other great resources. I also write blog posts with tips, ideas and any other content I feel may be useful to English language learners.

Teacher Sean and his family
I started teaching English the same year the very first website was published and the whole www thing began. Boy, do I feel old now.

I started my teaching career way back in 1990, the same year that British computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee tested the first website, using a web page and hyperlinks "to link and access information of various kinds as a web of nodes in which the user can browse at will.” It seems that I started teaching the year the world wide web was born.

Of course back in the beginning of 1990 there were no websites, no Youtube and no social media. Things did grow very fast though. The incredible growth of the internet and the amount of content now online is amazing. However, I think there is simply too much on the web. There are some really good resources drowned out by millions of web pages all trying to get your attention. So where do you start?

I started this website as a resource for my own students to find the good quality and useful online resources they need. Searching Google to find the important stuff is becoming increasingly difficult. I hope that this website will serve as a gateway to English learning resources online.

The posts will be reviewed by myself and then commented on and rated by you the user. I also urge you to submit your own favorite links which others can share, comment on and rate.
